Villanova University tabs StatMonitr for 2013-14

VILLANOVA, PENN. -- Villanova University will use the StatBroadcast's StatMonitr media stats system on campus during the 2013-14 school year.

Villanova is a private Catholic university located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, just 12 miles from Philadelphia. Founded in 1841, Villanova has a current enrollment of more than 10,000 students. The Villanova Wildcats compete at the NCAA Division I FCS level as members of the Big East Conference and the CAA for football. They were a founding member of the original Big East Conference in 1979 and this past July became a founding member of the new Big East Conference. The Wildcats football team has made nine appearances in the NCAA Football Tournament since dropping to the FCS level in 1985, has reached the semifinals three times and won the National Championship in 2009. The men's basketball team is one of the most successful programs in the nation, appearing 33 times in the NCAA Tournament, 8th highest total in NCAA history, and reaching four Final Fours. In 1985, Villanova won the national championship as an eighth-seed, a record that still stands as the lowest seed to win the tournament, and beat two No. 1's and two No. 2's en route to victory.

Villanova is joined in the Big East by current StatBroadcast partners DePaul, Xavier and Creighton.
