Coastal Carolina University adds StatMonitr for 2014-15 and 2015 Big South Basketball Tournaments

CONWAY, SC -- Coastal Carolina University has reached agreement with StatBroadcast Systems to use its StatMonitr media stats system for on-campus athletic events in 2014-15; additionally, as the host of the 2015 Big South Basketball Tournaments, Coastal Carolina will also utilize StatBroadcast's technologies at the conference championships next March.

Coastal Carolina University is a public state university in Conway, South Carolina, located about eight miles west of Myrtle Beach. With an enrollment of over 9,000 students, Coastal Carolina began as a community college in 1954 before becoming a regional campus of the University of South Carolina; in 1993, the school officially became an independent, four-year institution. The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers compete in 16 varsity sports at the NCAA Division-I FCS level as members of the Big South Conference. Since its inaugural season in 2003, the Chanticleer football team has already won six Big South Championships (most recently in 2013) and reached last year's FCS quarterfinals, falling to eventual champion NDSU. In 2014, the Coastal men's basketball team qualified for their first NCAA tournament in 21 years, winning the 2014 Big South Tournament Championship.

The Big South Basketball Tournaments serve as the conference championships for men's and women's basketball and the winner of each tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the respective NCAA Tournaments. The Big South Conference has 11 member schools located across Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Coastal joins conference members Campbell, Liberty, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian in partnering with StatBroadcast.
